Use RepliStor SMB Edition in conjunction with your daily backups to protect critical server data. If a file deletion, overwrite, or virus attack causes data loss, use your backup application to perform a restore. If a server or disk array outage results in data loss, RepliStor SMB Edition has you protected. After the failed server is brought back online, RepliStor SMB Edition synchronises it with the target server to ensure all data is up to date. Or connect users to the target server directly. Non-intrusive data protection
Prevent backup operations from affecting critical servers. By backing up the target server instead of the source server, you can protect data from user error or virus without having an impact on application performance

• Protects critical Exchange, SQL, and file servers - Increase protection of your Microsoft Exchange mail server, Microsoft SQL database, or an application or file server running one of several Windows server operating systems.

One-to-one, low impact data replication
After initial synchronisation, RepliStor SMB Edition captures just new and byte-level changes to data on the source computer, and then sends and applies them to the target computer. Replication happens asynchronously - the source computer does not wait for the target computer to apply updates-so applications are not inhibited.

Round the clock or per schedule
Replicate data continuously without interruption. Or run on a set schedule to avoid high periods of server or network use.

Replicate over LAN or WAN
Replicate between two servers in your office or thousands of miles apart. Transfer speeds over your LAN are practically instantaneous. A managed area network (MAN) is also extremely fast but varies. Have a T1 connection? 50% utilisation moves 500MB/hr. Have aT3? 50% utilisation moves 15 GB/hr.

High data security
Chose among three levels of security. Authenticate computer-to-computer connections. Add a 16-byte signature to prevent tampering. For highest security, add 128-bit data encryption over the network (decrypted at target). Files currently encrypted stay encrypted. RepliStor SMB Edition utilises Windows NT LAN Manager security and also supports Kerberos.

Optimise network performance
Use throttling and data compression to minimise network bandwidth consumption. Keep traffic off your main network by dedicating a separate network interface card (NIC).

Storage flexibility
Replicate to and from internal, direct-attached, NAS, SCSI, or SAN/Fibre Channel-attached storage. RepliStor SMB Edition does not require any proprietary hardware.

Simple installation and administration
Configure and administer RepliStor SMB Edition on source and target computers from any Windows computer on your network, including across domains. RepliStor SMB Edition syncs open files, enabling applications to stay online during set up. The customisable toolbar executes RepliStor SMB Edition commands with a push of a button.

Traffic light status and email notification
Get a quick status check through green, yellow, or red traffic lights on RepliStor SMB Edition's Monitor Bar. Receive alerts to performance issues by email.

Simulation and reporting
Simulate traffic between computers to determine expected usage of network bandwidth. Through intuitive reports, quickly review volume of data replicated over network and at specified time intervals.

Active Directory
RepliStor SMB Edition automatically registers in Windows Active Directory, providing a domain-wide site list and the ability to set parameters in one place. If a server makes a change to the list, the other sees it.

Windows Performance Monitor
Use Windows Performance Monitor to view statistics and observe replication activity in real time, as well as to monitor and report performance issues automatically.

Process exclusion
Set RepliStor SMB Edition to ignore applications that may trigger replication, such as anti-virus software or backup software that sets an archive bit.

SNMP
Send message logs as an SNMP trap for view by business management applications.
